Prizes and conditions
There are 20 prizes, each consisting of:
An image(s) to be taken by renowned photographer Rankin which will be showcased at a London gallery. This element of the prize is subject to availability and the photographs being shot in September or October 2008. Winners will receive a digital image and inkjet print (of no commercial value) of their own photograph shot by Rankin. This can be used on the website of a winning business and for public relationship purposes related to the Essence of the Entrepreneur campaign but not for any other form of advertising or commercial use.
(a) BT Business Total Broadband Option 2 for 12 months. BT Business Broadband subject to status, availability and survey. BT Business line required and each winner will need to have a line installed (to be supplied by BT as part of the prize). If the winner does not live in a BT Broadband-enabled area they may nominate a family member or friend to receive the 12 months’ subscription to BT Business Total Broadband, provided they inform BT by 31st October 2008. If a winner or nominee does not live in a broadband-enabled area, or they do not want a BT Business line installed, or is not able to meet the standard BT Business Total Broadband and BT Business line terms and conditions the winner/nominee will not be eligible to receive this element of the prize.
(b) Each winner will be required to sign a 12 month contract with BT for the BT Business Line and Business Total Broadband (BT Services). Once an account has been activated in the winners’ name BT will send each winner a cheque for the funds equivalent to cover the 12 months’ subscription and rental price of the BT Services, in accordance with the costs as listed on BT.com (Covering Payment), including VAT. Winners will be required to pay for the BT Services by Direct Debit and any costs outside of those included in the Covering Payment are the responsibility each winner.
(c) Winners will be bound by the standard terms and conditions for the BT Services listed on acceptance of the prize.
Out of the 20 winners selected, one of these will also be awarded the most outstanding entrepreneur of the year award and will receive a £20,000 cash prize. This prize is awarded to the Qualifying Business and not to any individual. - BT agrees to pay the cash prize grant as a one off payment upfront by 31st October 2008.
Terms and Conditions:
The BT Business Essence of the Entrepreneur initiative is open to privately owned businesses based within GB, Channel Islands and Isle of Man only, employing fewer than 75 staff aged 18 or over (Qualifying Business), excluding employees of BT, their families or its agencies.
Entry is free to a Qualifying Business. Entries must be completed by the owner of the company or the Managing Director and permission is required from the company board / management prior to submitting the application. All entries must be submitted by Sunday 31st August 2008.
The winning entries will be those Qualifying Business’s that, in the sole opinion of the independent panel of judges (Judges), demonstrate a unique ability to use technology to help facilitate their adapting to the changing world and the ability to demonstrate the potential for future growth. No cash alternative available for the first and second elements of the prize.
By entering the competition, winners consent to: (a) their photographs taken (including photo shoot with Rankin) during September or October 2008 to ensure inclusion within the gallery and attend the gallery launch business networking event; (b) take part in publicity and for their name/photo to be published; and (c) participate in any necessary media activity, media interviews and case study profiles.
Entries must be made via the entry form which can be completed via www.bt.com/entrepreneur before Sunday 31st August 2008
Winners will be notified by telephone (on the number supplied to BT on the entry form) on or immediately after Tuesday 9th September 2008. Only the winners will be notified. The Promoter reserves the right to re-assess the winners if a winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable period of time (to be established at the Promoter’s sole discretion).
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its control.
The name of the winners may be obtained by written request by sending an SAE to Kazoo Communications, 12 Goslett Yard, London, WC2H 0EQ on or before 31 March 2008
By entering this promotion, all entrants agree to be bound by these terms and that the decision of the Promoter is final and binding in all matters relating to this promotion.
The Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or withdraw this competition without prior notice in the event that unforeseen circumstances make this unavoidable.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant resulting from entering this promotion, or by the entrant’s acceptance or use of any prize or any damage to any entrant’s or other person’s computer or mobile phone equipment as a consequence of downloading any material relating to this promotion. Nothing shall exclude the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence.
This promotion is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
